Kindergarten Readiness

Kindergarten Readiness

Pre-K students and Kindergarteners who need to level up in math, reading, and handwriting work one-to-one with Brightmont teachers to build their skills. We create a customized plan for each student: setting individualized goals, providing one-to-one instruction, and measuring outcomes. We believe in the success of your child.

Each personalized session includes exposure to both digital and physical learning experiences.

  • When do programs begin?

All Brightmont programs are offered year-round. Students can enroll during the traditional school year as well as over the summer.  This program would highly benefit children scheduled to enter Kindergarten in the fall.

  • What is a multi-sensory curriculum?

A multi-sensory curriculum encompasses visual, auditory and tactile learning to improve focus, visualization and retention. Conducive to all types of learners, a multi-sensory approach uses a range of activities to promote learning.

  • How does scheduling work?

A campus director will discuss with you the best scheduling for your family's needs. We recommend students take 5 days of reading and alternating math and writing each day. This would create a balanced program of 10 days, 2 hours each day. Programs are flexible.

  • What would a sample day look like?

In a single session, the lessons will be a rotation of activities (chunking). We recommend students take two sessions per day: one session focused on reading, and a second session focused on math or handwriting.

  • What is the Orton-Gillingham approach?

The Orton-Gillingham approach is a multi-sensory way of teaching literacy to individuals who struggle with reading, writing and spelling. The curricular content and instructional practices used in the Orton-Gillingham approach are based on 80 years of research and validation. The Orton-Gillingham approach has shown significant success in a one teacher - one student instructional model.
