At Brightmont Academy, we identify and support the needs of each student, whether they struggle with depression and/or anxiety, learning disabilities, health issues or other special needs.
Brightmont’s educational model is mastery-based, empowering students to actively engage in their studies at their own pace while being challenged and supported throughout the learning process. We offer a range of programs throughout the year including full-time school, individual courses, tutoring, and skill-building programs. We offer open enrollment so you can start right away.

Meet Jennifer Sorenson
Plymouth Campus Director
Jennifer Sorenson is the Campus Director of Brightmont Academy – Plymouth. She works with families to provide individualized solutions that lead to students realizing their true academic potential. As Campus Director, Jennifer oversees campus management, operations, student progress, parent communications, and community partnerships. She has revitalized the Plymouth campus, resulting in campus growth, transparency, improved student outcomes, and increased engagement.
Jennifer holds a distinguished role as a member of the Minnesota Nonpublic Education Council and advises the Commissioner on issues affecting nonpublic education and nonpublic schools. She also serves as a board member for the University of Minnesota School of Journalism Alumni Society and The Garage. Jennifer volunteers her time as a professional speaker for LifeSource and a mentor for the University of Minnesota School of Journalism mentoring program. In 2015, Jennifer was named a 40 under 40 honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Jennifer served as the Chair for the Minnesota Career College Association in 2015 and 2016.
Jennifer previously served as the President of The Art Institutes International Minnesota and The Art Institute of Wisconsin, private creative arts colleges, where she oversaw all operations including development of and execution on the vision and strategic direction of the college, student success initiatives, graduate outcomes, faculty and staff development, and effective internal and external relationships. She worked in various roles at The Art Institutes since 2007 where she served as President, Regional Admissions Specialist, Senior Director of Admissions and Director of Admissions.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a Master of Science degree in Management from Argosy University-Twin Cities.
