...but how do my kids
learn socialization?
Taking socialization up a notch...
Brightmont Academy is unique because children have the opportunity to socialize throughout the day. With one teacher assigned to each student, kids are engaged in conversation instead of getting lost in a large classroom. We have observed that continuous interaction with their teacher significantly enhances a child's social skills.
Apart from conversing with their adult teacher, students also have various opportunities to interact with peers their own age. Brightmont maintains passing periods, and some campuses offer special group clubs during lunchtime.
Ways our students stay connected to their peers...
- Eat lunch together
- Short walking distances plus passing periods equal plenty of time in the hallway to talk with friends every hour
- All campuses have different celebrations for holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions
Engagement opportunities at some campuses:
- Fun group classes during lunchtime
- Play Chess and other board games
- Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four, Head's Up, and Uno tournaments
- Clubs (art, film, music, theater, running, science, robotics)
- Spirit Weeks
- Spanish and French Bingo
- Team activities (egg drop challenge, team spelling B)
- Collaborating on puzzles
