Bethesda Private School Specializing in One-to-One Instruction for Grades 1-12

Bethesda, MD — Brightmont Academy, a leading one-to-one private school serving students in grades 1-12, has expanded into Maryland with the opening of a new campus in Bethesda. This marks Brightmont’s first location in the state and the beginning of a larger growth plan, with plans to open at least three additional campuses in the near future.

The Bethesda campus is led by Nedra Bradford, an educator with over 25 years of experience working with students of all learning styles, including those with learning differences and gifted learners. Bradford previously held leadership roles with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, where she specialized in developing strong one-to-one instructional programs.

“We are thrilled to bring Brightmont to the Bethesda community,” said Aisha Walker, VP of School Development at Brightmont. “With students enrolled for both summer and fall, we are working with families daily to create personalized academic plans that support each child now and in the year ahead.”

Brightmont welcomed Bradford as Campus Director in February and opened its temporary location, allowing students to begin receiving instruction immediately. A permanent campus will open in August.

“Leading with empathy, my goal is to help students reach their full potential,” said Bradford. “I’m excited to bring Brightmont’s one-to-one learning model to Bethesda and to serve students and families across the surrounding DMV region. I look forward to collaborating with educators and student support professionals across DC, Maryland, and Virginia to provide customized learning solutions.”

Brightmont is nationally recognized for its one-to-one instructional model, providing individualized academic planning and tailored support. The 1:1 learning approach serves a wide range of learners, including those who benefit from flexible pacing, personalized attention, and non-traditional classroom settings.

Brightmont’s new campus will service students and families, offering a supportive environment where learners can grow academically and build confidence. “Our flexible, one-to-one learning model is especially impactful for students who benefit from an individualized academic approach,” Walker added. “In addition to partnering closely with parents, we collaborate with each student’s broader support team to ensure every child receives the comprehensive support they need to thrive."

Brightmont Academy is located at 4749 Sangamore Rd. in Bethesda and is currently accepting enrollments

Brightmont Academy is an accredited private school that provides one-to-one instruction. One experienced teacher works with one student throughout every learning session. Customized full-time programs and individual courses are offered for grades 1-12. Students can also receive individualized tutoring for all 1-12 subjects, study skills, and test prep. Brightmont Academy has served thousands of students since 1999 and has 25 campuses in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Washington.
