One student, who had already cycled through four other schools, arrived at Brightmont a year and a half behind his peers, struggling emotionally and academically due to the disruptions of COVID-19. "He walked in a year and a half behind his peers, and through a lot of work, he graduated three months before his peers and was accepted to 15 different colleges to continue his education," Buckner recounted, underscoring the transformative power of Brightmont’s tailored support.

Another student started at Brightmont with just 1.5 credits 2.5 years ago. Despite facing relentless challenges, including the balancing act of work and school, she found a steadfast support system in Brightmont. "We rode a lot of roller coasters with her, and she said multiple times that she was done with school. We were her support and cheerleaders, holding her accountable. But the day we were able to say congratulations at her graduation, I’m not sure who had the bigger smile—her or her teachers," Buckner reflected.
