Understanding OCD & Anxiety in Children and Teens with Erin Venker

December 11, 2025

Brightmont Academy Speaker Series

In this Brightmont Academy Speaker Series webinar, Jenny Sorenson and Michelle Platt are joined by special guest Erin Venker, a licensed therapist from the OCD & Anxiety Center of Minnesota, for an informative and compassionate conversation about OCD and anxiety in children and adolescents.

Erin breaks down how OCD differs from anxiety and perfectionism, when symptoms typically emerge, and what evidence-based treatments look like—including therapy approaches and medication considerations. The discussion also explores common school accommodations, how to avoid reinforcing anxiety, and how individualized education settings can better support students struggling with OCD.

This session is ideal for parents, educators, and professionals looking to better understand anxiety-related challenges and how to support students both academically and emotionally.
