Brightmont Academy Provides Flexible Part-Time Enrollment Option

Private School in Mendota Heights Specializing in One-to-One Instruction for 1st-12th Grade Students

Mendota Heights, MN – Since 2019, right before the pandemic, there has been a 2.9% decrease in K-12 public school enrollment. One of the main contributing factors to this decline is mental health. Brightmont Academy offers a part-time enrollment option that is designed to provide students with greater flexibility and customized learning experiences.

Brightmont Academy is a nationally accredited private school that offers a flexible, customized learning alternative to traditional schools. One experienced teacher works with one student throughout every learning session. Brightmont Academy's safe learning environment and supportive teachers are integral to the emotional well-being of all students, including those with anxiety and/or depression. “Brightmont Academy's one-to-one classroom structure allows students with a history of avoiding school to feel supported in their learning and not judged for being behind. Because every student has an individual schedule and is allowed to move through the material at the best pace for them, students are not compared to each other. In addition, when school avoiders start at Brightmont Academy, we often work on starting slowly and building the students' learning stamina again. That could mean starting with attending two days per week and building on that schedule,” said Jennifer Sorenson, Campus Director of the Mendota Heights location.

New students can enroll at any time with open enrollment throughout the school year. Brightmont Academy is open year-round and offers customized scheduling, allowing students the flexibility to balance priorities. Brightmont Academy allows the option for students to start online or at school for one hour a day until they are comfortable doing a full day of school with the goal of returning to public school. Sorenson adds, “Students may start with remote sessions and transition to on-campus sessions at any time. Many school avoiders I've worked with have successfully transitioned to another school after a semester or two of regular attendance at Brightmont Academy”.

Brightmont Academy is located at 720 Main Street, Suite 101 in Mendota Heights, and is currently accepting enrollments.

Brightmont Academy is an accredited private school that provides one-to-one instruction. One experienced teacher works with one student throughout every learning session. Customized full-time programs and individual courses are offered for grades 1-12. Students can also receive individualized tutoring for all 1-12 subjects, study skills, and test prep. Brightmont Academy has served thousands of students since 1999 and has 18 campuses in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington.
