Who Are Brightmont’s Students?

Brightmont’s campus in North Miami supports students with diverse learning needs, schedules, and academic interests. Our private school welcomes:

Students with ADHD and Attention Deficits

Many of Brightmont’s students have an ADHD diagnosis and struggle to maintain their focus and engagement in other schools. Brightmont’s flexible one-to-one classrooms naturally minimize distractions and allow students to take breaks throughout the day to support their attention. Our personalized learning model and multisensory curriculum encourage these students to engage deeply without the fear of judgment from their peers.

Brightmont also offers executive functioning programs for grades 3–12, which provide coaching to help students learn to plan, complete, and turn in assignments in ways that work best for them.

Students with Learning Differences

Students with learning differences often struggle to find a school that offers the accommodations they need to succeed. Brightmont’s one-to-one model enables teachers to modify their instructional methods, pacing, and curriculum to match the learning styles of students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning differences.

Gifted and 2E Students

Traditional classrooms impede gifted and twice-exceptional students’ progress by forcing them to wait for peers to catch up, leading to boredom and burnout. Brightmont’s personalized instruction empowers students to move at their own pace and dive deeper into complex questions without worrying about peer judgment.

Students with Mental Health Challenges

Large classrooms bring social pressures, rigidity, and an overstimulating atmosphere that only exacerbate the struggles that students with anxiety, depression, school refusal, or obsessive-compulsive disorder face. Brightmont will work with your family to create an accessible classroom environment that promotes learning while supporting your child’s emotional and social well-being.

Student Athletes and Performers

Aspiring elite athletes, actors, and musicians shouldn’t have to choose between their passion and a quality education. With Brightmont’s NCAA-approved curriculum, you won’t have to compromise. Our flexible one-to-one model allows students to create a schedule around their extracurricular commitments, so they can further their academic progress without worrying about falling behind.

  • Parent Testimonials

“My daughter was not thriving in a traditional school and arrived at Brightmont significantly behind grade level and with no confidence in her ability to succeed. The Brightmont teachers were excellent and incredibly supportive. With their help, she graduated from high school at Brightmont feeling proud of all she accomplished.”

    -Jane M., parent

“One of the best moments I've had parenting is when my daughter out of the blue, teary-eyed, thanked me for helping her graduate. She said she knew she couldn't have done it without Brightmont...Brightmont was the start of new beginnings for both of us. Thank you for giving her confidence!”

    -Kelly K., parent

“Our son attended Brightmont Academy in Plymouth in 8th grade (the only reason we left is due to our move to a different state). He had struggled in a traditional school setting, the large classes did not suit his learning style. We researched many possible schools, only Brightmont offered everything we were looking for. Jess and her team of educators have created a welcoming environment where each individual student is encouraged fully. Our son's time at Brightmont has forever changed his view of learning and school in general, he is now a motivated student who has confidence in his abilities. One of the greatest bonuses of sending our son to Brightmont was the one to one teacher/student ratio. This enabled the teachers to really get to know him in a way that is not possible in a traditional school setting. We fully recommend Brightmont Academy to any family who is looking for a quality education in a caring setting for their son or daughter.”
