Meet Ron Hess

At Brightmont Academy, Ron contributes his keen understanding of the teaching and learning process. His commitment to high academic standards helps ensure all students are provided with quality learning experiences.

Ron received a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Houston and holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Long Island University. His 28-year education career began as a teacher in Texas and then continued as a principal and adjunct professor in Virginia. For the past six years Ron has served as a principal in Southern California.

Ron’s teaching background includes experience as a college professor for graduate-level curriculum and instruction courses and as an instructor training teachers enrolled in certification programs. More recently, he was an evaluator for the written essay portion of the CAHSEE and tests offered by the College Board.

As a longtime advocate of individualized one-to-one instruction, he has designed remediation, intervention, and enrichment programs to maximize students’ strengths and establish engaging and supportive learning environments.
